A small British studio making social software that stays quiet.
Shaped Social Ltd was founded on a simple observation: the friendships that last are usually the ones with the least friction. Most social software adds friction and calls it engagement. We are trying to do the opposite.
We are a product company, not an agency. Everything we release is designed, built and supported in house, and we only work on ideas we would use ourselves.
Our thesis is proximity. The people you see are the people you keep, and technology is much better at closing small distances than it is at creating closeness from nothing.
That focus keeps our roadmap short. We build one product at a time, put it in front of a small group of real users, and let their habits tell us what to do next.

We would rather ship a small app that does one thing properly than a large one that keeps asking for attention.
People are not metrics
We do not measure success in daily active users. We measure it in whether the app helped anyone see a friend.
Trust is earned in the details
Retention windows, deletion, quiet modes and permissions are decided before a feature is built, never bolted on afterwards.
